Course overview
This is Part 2 of a two-part course, providing the skills and understanding of Tajweed rules to equip the student with the ability to improve and perfect their reading of Qur’aan. Course topics include Al-Madood (Elongations) in Arabic reading, rules and symbols for Waqf (stopping), levels of Ghunnah (nasal holding), different types of Idghaam (blending), and more.

Introduction to Qur'aanic Tajweed-1 or Course Equivalent (Testing Required)

Meet the Instructors:

Dr Hajirah Abdus-Salaam

Dr. Hajirah Abdus-Salaam is a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor and Certified Iridologist and Natural Health Professional.  Dr. Abus-Salaam holds a certification in Islamic Teacher Education (I.T.E.P.) from University of Toronto, Canada, OISE–Ontario Institute of Studies in Education. She studied various Islamic Sciences at Al-Rawiya College including Uloom Al-Quran, Uloom Al-Hadith, Seerah of the Prophet, and Qur'aanic Arabic.  Dr. Hajirah operates her own wholistic health company, Read A Healthy You 'Wholistic Health.

Nadiyah Ahmad

Nadiyah Ahmad is the Director of Islamic Learning Institute. She has worked for 24 years alongside her late husband, Imam Qasim Ahmed (RA) in building and growing Islamic Learning Institute. Sister Nadiyah holds a BS in Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. As a lifelong educator in both private and public sectors, Sister Nadiyah uses her curriculum and instruction background to create learning materials and programs for ILI. She works along side the ILI  instructors and with our Young Scholars Program.
