Course overview
This is the first course of a three part series which goes over the life of Muhammed the Prophet (saws). Students completing all three courses will engage themselves in a full year of studying how Prophet Muhammed (saws) lived the message of Qur'aan.  Seerah 1 will begin with a historic look at pre-Islamic Arabia and the environment in which the Prophet (saws) was born and follow the accounts of his life which prepared him to receive the revelation of Qur'aan.  This course will provide an academic look at some of the finer details of the seerah showing how the study of seerah provides direction in all aspects of our individual lives.
(3:31) (O Messenger!) Tell people: 'If you indeed love Allah, follow me, and Allah will love you and will forgive you your sins. Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Compassionate. '  We must study the Seerah of Muhammed the Prophet (saws) in order to understand how to follow him.

The Qur'aan was placed on the heart of Muhammed (saws) and through studying his life and not only hadith, provides a context of how Muhammed the Prophet (saws) lived the message he was sent to deliver to the whole of creation.

One on One Instruction

This Seerah series is delivered in three parts, which means students will have an entire year of studying the life of Prophet Muhammed (saws). It will seek to provide an academic and engaging view of his life allowing for discussion and greater understanding on points of contention and agreement.

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS

Imam Dr. Wazir Ali
Imam Dr. Wazir ali is the resident imam of the historic Masjid Warithud-Deen Mohammed and Masjid Al-Qur’an in Houston, Texas. Both communities have experienced unprecedented growth under his leadership. Dr. Ali completed an eight-year mentorship program in Islamic Studies, comparative religion and Masjid administration under the guidance of Imam Qasim Ahmed. Imam Ali is also a student of the preeminent American Muslim scholar, the late Imam W. Deen Mohammed (ra).  Imam Ali holds a Doctorate degree in clinical nutrition, a Master of Science degree in kinesiology, and Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and psychology.
Aneesah Dawan
Hajjah Aneesah Dawan serves as an Advisory SHURAA member and Assistant Director of the islamic learning institute. A life-long student of Qur'aan, Aneesah studied under Imam Qasim Ahmed (ra) for many years.  She has both secular and religious training with a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies, as well as a 2-year Arabic Language Certification from Abu Nour University in Damascus, Syria.
